Gail was diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukaemia) in April 2004. She died on
Through ‘Bluebird’ it is my intention to keep this work alive. Gail was always extremely keen to produce recordings and performances and would have loved the idea of putting our work up on this website. About six weeks after Gail’s death, friends and I put on a memorial and charity performance at The Ramshorn Theatre exclusively of Gail’s work entitled ‘A Slightly Lugubrious Bluebird of Happiness’ (taken from the title of Gail’s Glasgow University dissertation on the Scottish artist John Byrne). You can hear excerpts from the recording of this performance on this site. I have since continued work in the studio on more recordings and have been developing new songs. Eventually all of this material will coalesce into a Bluebird album.
